Course Description

Can you improve your freediving skills and techniques even more? The AIDA *** Freediver Course will allow you to discover if you are able to go further in the freediving sport.

To follow the AIDA *** Freediver Course you should have reached the age of 18 years and you must be in the possession of the AIDA ** Freediver certificate. The medical form should also be filled in completely.

The AIDA *** Freediver Course goes with more details into the theory and training concepts of freediving. It will allow to understand the physiology and techniques behind deep freediving. Your instructor will help you to improve your performances of freediving safely as well as buddy and rescue skills.

The AIDA *** Freediver Course consists of 3 theory sessions, a breathing and relaxation session, 2 confined water trainings mostly in a swimming pool and 4 open water sessions.

During the theory sessions you will learn what happens to your body and your lungs when the surrounding pressure becomes greater and how your body adapts to it. Your instructor will also teach you the different equalizing techniques and how to perform or master the Frenzel technique.

During the breathing and relaxation session you will as it says practice how breathing can help you to become relaxed.

The confined water sessions in a swimming pool or shallow water will allow you to practice O2 and CO2 tables, learn training concepts for static apnea and how to prepare a maximum attempt.

During the open water sessions we will refine your swimming and diving techniques, improve your streamlining position and perform Frenzel equalization efficiently while freediving. You will also learn and practice the free falling and how to be relax when performing a freedive at depth. More rescue scenarios at depth and at the surface will be practice. 

During this course you will also learn new skills and a higher knowledge of safety procedures and techniques for freediving such as free falling, training tables, the risk of increasing and decreasing pressure and how to minimize these risks.

The aim of this course is to develop the skills and knowledge for a recreational freediver to independently plan and participate in freediving activities with similarly experienced freediver buddies.

To get your AIDA *** Freediver certificate you will have to perform a 2:45 minutes breath hold, swim 55 meters in dynamic apnea with fins and freedive to 24 meters depth in the constant weight discipline.

Certification: Completing the AIDA ** Freediver Course will give you the AIDA *** Freediver certificate that allows you to dive till a depth of maximum of 30 meters with your buddy or a professional guide.

Durations: In 3 days the course can be finished.

Schedule: Day 1: Theory session, confined water sessions for static and dynamic apnea.

                      Day 2: Theory session; open water sessions and exam.

                      Day 3: Open water sessions.
