Course Description
Can you imagine how many ships have passed through the Red Sea over the last 200 years and how many shipwrecks can be found there?
Hurghada has also been a very important place for building ships as the history of the city leads us to a very old fishing town.
Wreck diving is recreational diving where the wreckage of ships, aircrafts, and other artificial structures are explored.
On our daily boats, you can explore many of those shipwrecks that have evolved from just being a wreck to a beautiful home for hundreds if not thousands of various marine life.
Your day starts with our crew picking you up from your accommodation at the pre-organized time. Then we go to our boat where you get introduced to the crew who will then show you around the boat during our boat briefing.
Our trip to the wreck will take between 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the boat itinerary, which wreck are we going to and the weather.
On arrival your instructor or dive master will brief you on the first dive and give you all the details you need to safely dive on the wreck. He/She will explain to you where our boat is moored in relation to the wreck. Which line will be our descending line and which direction we will go. Our detailed briefing is a very important part of wreck diving with us.
When the wreck is shallower than 18 meters with good conditions you can dive around the wreck if you were an Open Water Diver. We recommend that you are an Advanced Diver or completing your Advanced Diver course of the same trip as most of the wrecks are between 18 to 25 meters.
Diving outside the wrecks is very exciting as you get to see the landscape of the wreck and how the marine life is growing on it. Soft and hard corals, various fish species and amazing macro creatures all grow on the outside of most of the Red Sea shipwrecks.
For the more experienced divers, going inside the wreck is another level of pleasure while scuba diving. Not all wrecks are safe to penetrate; our very experienced crew will let you know when and if it is safe to penetrate the wreck.
If you want to dive on many wrecks and learn how to safely penetrate any underwater wreck we recommend the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course. It has become a very popular course because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.
If you are 15 years or older and have earned Adventure diver certification or higher you can enrol in the Wreck Diver Specialty course.
