PADI Advanced Open Water

To subscribe to the PADI Advanced Open Water Course you must be already an Open Water Diver and to be at least 15 years old.

There will be no final exam. You just have to read the appropriate sections in the manual and answer the questions at the end of each chapter.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course consists of 2 main components. You will go through 5 theory modules by self study and extensive briefing, followed by 5 open water dives.

From the 5 modules and dives, 2 are mandatory, Navigation and Deep Diving. The other 3 modules and dives you can choose from the long list of specialties according to your interests.

The Navigation module includes natural navigation and compass navigation. This makes it easier to determine your position underwater and you will find your way back to the diving target faster. Due to circumstances it may happen that natural navigation isn’t enough. A compass offers the solution in such circumstances. It will help you to determine and maintain a direction.

With the Deep Diving module you will learn to dive to a greater depth. You will get acquainted with the influences of pressure on your body and the safety measures related to deep diving.

For the 3 other modules and dives, as said above, you can choose from the specialties such as Digital Underwater Photography, Wreck Diving, Night Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy or Fish Identification. These are just a few examples from the long list. In accordance with your instructor you can discuss your choice.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course certifies you to dive till a depth of maximum 30 meters.

Duration: This course can be completed in 2 days.

Schedule: Day 1: Knowledge reviews, navigation and 2 elective dives.

                  Day 2: Knowledge reviews, deep dive and 1 other elective dive.
