Course Description

At night is when the colours come back to life; our torches maintain the colour spectrum and the underwater world is dyed with bright hues.

Most of the underwater marine creatures are nocturnal feeders; they rest in the morning and start looking for a meal under the blanket of the dark.

Many different Shrimps, Lobsters and Crabs show up only at night. You can see shrimps like if they were dancing, lobsters and crabs as if they are on a night patrol, observing the move of every other moving creature including us.

You have a higher chance at night diving to find the camouflage masters like Octopus, Squid and Cuttlefish. They leave the best locations for their camouflage and start moving across the reef looking for a prey.

On a night dive you still see some of your bigger favourites like Stingrays and reef sharks; only this time with different behaviour than the morning one. At night Sharks and rays start the hunting game and you can see them chasing smaller preys.

When your underwater light fall on a squid for example, you will find the squid glows. It looks as if the body of this squid has light bulbs inside of it. While it looks from another world, this shinny squid has some bioluminescence abilities inside of it.

Bioluminescence is when the sea sparkles neon like blue or green; this beautiful sight is a worthy of a spot on your bucket list. More than 70% of ocean animals are bioluminescent, which means they produce their own lights. Marine creatures rely on bioluminescence for communication, finding prey and camouflage.

Scuba diving in the morning has clear rules and signals; while not everything changes at the night dive but special training will be required before you can make your first dip in the dark. If you are an open water diver, you can start with the Night Adventure dive, this dive will count for you next Adventure or Advanced course.

During this dive your instructor will teach you the night specific directions for communication under the water using the dive torch, entry and exit precautions and signals. After the first night Adventure dive, most of scuba divers keep waiting and looking forward for the next one. Falling in love with the mystery of diving in the dark can easily turns your passion into real life SCI-Fi movie.

With us you can start your night dive from the shore, just walk in and the whole underwater world is at your hand or you can choose to start from the boat. We have many suitable night dive spots accessible by shore or boat. You Decide!!!!

When night dive becomes your favourite diving activity, remember to keep learning about different techniques and equipment used at night diving. PADI Night Diver specialty course is available for all (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 12 years old.
